Startling Truth about Personal Failure

You want something bad. You try hard at it. You do everything you can do about it and even then fail to get it.

If this is what happens with you most of the time, have you ever wondered what could be the reason behind your failure?

Are you not trying as hard as you should? Are you not serious about what you are trying to accomplish? Or are you plain unlucky?

No, it may not be like that at all.

The real reason behind your failure could be quite different and surprising:

Your inner self or subconscious may not want you to succeed

- though consciously and in all honesty you try to get what you want.

In other words, there is a conflict between what your conscious mind wants and what your subconscious mind wants. In this tug of war, the subconscious nearly always wins. The result is you don't get what you want or don't get it in the measure you want.

This is why dieting plans fail. This is why people who give up smoking start smoking again.

One side of you wants something. But the inner self wants something else. The inner self wins and you lose.

It is as simple as that.

And the solution too is simple.

Get your conscious and subconscious minds to work together. Make them want the same thing and you are almost there. It is like swimming with the current or sailing with the wind. You get where you want almost effortlessly.

Do you find this hard to swallow? I too did until I experienced the workings of mind myself. That real-life experience led me to look at the various self-help and goal-setting programs. What they all do is to show you how to program your mind for success for which they present their own techniques.

How To Choose A Self-help Program

With so many such programs around, you may find it difficult to decide which one to go for. So  here are some tips, based on my experience, which should help you find the program most suitable for your needs:

The questions to ask -

  • Is it easy to understand?
While this should go without saying, I have come across some self-help books which confuse you more than convey. So go for a program written in a way that you can understand without reaching for a dictionary every other paragraph. And what it says should be based on solid scientific research - no mumbo jumbo or hocus-pocus of any kind.

  • Is it do-able?
The technique should be such that you can put into practice without too much trouble and stress. Something which any person with average intelligence with a limited time could do without giving up the normal day-to-day routine.

  • Does it give proven results?
To me this is most important. Every program says that it works. But can you verify for yourself that it does give proven results? Better still, can you test the system without committing yourself?

But do such perfect programs exist? No, not many, to be sure. But that doesn't mean there are no such programs at all. For example, I find a book by Stuart Lichtman and Joe Vitale to be a prime example of such a program. Here is my take on it. But my opinion aside, you would do well to look at the program and test it yourself to form your opinion.
